About the Project

This project explores the factors that either encourage or prevent communities from practicing effective handwashing behaviours. It explores how these factors differ across communities globally and the alternative strategies that are needed in communities without access to handwashing resources. We aim to identify the gaps in global handwashing practices and uncover the best approaches for implementing handwashing strategies. We are also developing and adapting evidence-based strategies to ensure populations across the world are able to practice effective hand hygiene and reduce the risk of infectious diseases.
